In October 2017, we launched the Crush Crypto Research Challenge where we invited undergraduates to compete and write an investment report on an upcoming ICO.
The competition concluded on November 30, 2017. We received over 50 high quality applications from all around the world and saw many interesting ideas. It was very encouraging to see so many undergraduates involved in cryptocurrency investing!
We want to personally thank each and every participant for sharing their work with us.
After careful consideration, we are very pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Crush Crypto Research Challenge are as follows:
- First place with a prize of 5 ether: John Coburn from Queen’s University in Canada. His idea was on Bankex.
- Second place with a prize of 2 ether: Richard Wang from UC Irvine in the United States. His idea was on SweetBridge.
- Third place with a prize of 1 ether: Kieran O’Day from University of Colorado Boulder in the United States. His idea was on Bitclave.
We were so impressed with the quality of the submissions from the top 3 candidates that we have extended an internship offer to each of them. To learn more about them, please see the About Crush Crypto page.
The addition of John, Richard and Kieran will add depth and horsepower to the Crush Crypto team. We will increase coverage of our analyses and continue to bring high quality, independent, and unbiased content to you, completely free of charge.
Let’s keep on crushing it!
